persistence II

This work aims to go a little further than the human eye can see. The motifs are real, but surreal at the same time. The images are sharp, yet very blurred. The shapes are defined, but at the same time abstract. It is a transformation. The apparent halt to decay – seen over the course of my life – seems like an unchanging constant in the variously fast and slow processes of my decay. This constancy creates a reassuring feeling because we are aware that the essence of development lies in change, even if this is not recognisable at first glance.

Technique: 35mm black and white film, developed with Caffenol-C-M, enlarged on RC paper (23x15cm), Passepartout with aluminium frame (40x30cm)
